True honey gourami (colisa chuna) is a different species than honey sunset or sunset gourami (colisa lalia).

I'm going to guess the honey sunset variant of colisa lalia rather than true honey gourami, colisa chuna. Different fish. Yours is very pretty!

Lol I thought you had one that was mystery sex one and the other was called angel. The first was sorta transparent and the other picture showed his true colors. Are you sure it is a honey because there is blue on his dorsal fin and honeys don't have that.

in our area, we have honeys that are yellow and honey sunsets that are like coffeebeans...I can only speak from around here...and going from the web, its a honey sunset and they do have blue on their finnage...so does mine

Yup, that's a color morph of the dwarf gourami, not a true honey gourami. But it is pretty!

Wow. What a beauty! I kinda wish mine had that blue!

As harpua mentioned the similar, but different species, colisa lalia is often confused with the honey gourami. Yours looks exactly like a paler Blushing DG (colisa lalia). The colisa lalia Blushing DG is noted for have those blue accented dorsals and solid body color. http://www.malawicichlidhomepage.com..._gourami05.jpg

My two honey gouramis (colisa chuna) are full-grown at 1.5 inches, bright yellow body/fins and orange tipping along the fins and an orange stripe from back of his head to the front of his tail. From my research, there are color variations in the species (though none with blue dorsals), including red, gold, orange (and maybe others) honey gourami. All of these are colisa chuna, though.

Shawnie, does yours look like the chuna or the lalia? I've read previous threads you psted in, where it sounded more like yours was the semi-aggressive lalia, but that wasn't clear.
