| | Fish Keeper | in my opinion they act and sorta look like cichlids to me
im probably a little bit predujust because the ppl at my LFS said they were peaceful and would get along with all the fish in my tank, they didn't! they killed 2 guppys, one of my 3 spots, and broke my the others feeler and tore up his fins . she was on a rampage until my catfish took care of her
she caused a bit of trouble that night Last edited by Gouramiguy17; June 18th, 2009 at 06:41 PM.

| | Fish Keeper | Wow, seems like a really aggressive fish you have. I think I read on one of the threads here or a googled article that sparkling gouramis are not compatible with fish that have unique long tails. Are there enough hiding areas for your gourami? |

| | Fish Helper | Awe I couldn't vote for my favourite gourami. The Lavender Gourami you didn't add it in
But they are my favourite I am waiting for a giant gourami to come in for my big tank. It's the Giant Gourami!! Although I am going to be getting it as a young one, so I can watch it grow for many years! Although I just ordered it a month ago, so I guess they must be quarantining and taking parasites out or what so ever. I am getting them directly as wild caught from Southern Asia, like Indonesia, Indochina, India, and Thailand.
Although I just ordered two. But they are EXPENSIVE!
So the Giant Gourami is my second favorite! |

IMO, these fish should stay in the wild or an Aquarium (not home Aquarium) |

Although I ordered one for my friend whose tank is way bigger than mine. About 2,500 gallons (US) |

| | Fish Master | My favorites are the honey dwarf gouramis, sparkling gouramis, and honey dwarf gouramis I have only owned the Honey Dwarf Gouramis, but I hopefully want to try keeping the other two sometime soon. I have been wanting to add a pearl gourami to my 70 gallon planted tank, and hopefully I will be able to try keeping the sparkling gouramis once I have the money to set up my other 10 gallon |

| | Fish Helper | My favorite would be a Chocolate Gourami, followed closely by Pearls. IMO, Pearls with their spawning colors showing are one of the prettiest FW fish. |

Oh sorry, but I thought the Lavender gourami is also known as the Opaline gourami which is one of the voting options. http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Trich...r_trichopterus |

| | Fish Bum | my favorite is the dwarf gourami. I have a powder blue one. This is also the only one I've ever had. I think all gouramis are very pretty. I just like the dwarfs because they stay small |

| | Fish Helper | I like the Pearl Gouramis and Sparkling Gouramis. For future tank ideas, I'd like to get some sparkling They are a great size for smaller tanks and I love their colors with the sparkles! |

| | Fish Keeper | Dwarf Gourami is now tied with Sparkling Gourami. You can thank me later DG lovers. I like dwarf gourami because of their size. I like small fish. |
