got a kissing gourami 2 gold gouramis, 2 black gouramis 1 blue . the kissing gourami does not leave the other gouramis alone. there is a couple tetras a pleco. the tank is 55 gallons with lots of hiding places. is this normal or what can i do to stop this? all these gouramis are roughly the same size about 4 inches. sure hate to flush him

Welcome!
Gouramis generally do not play well together.
It's best to keep 1 gourami per tank.
Kissers are known to be aggressive.
Oh, and I sure hope you're kidding about the flushing part.

i agree with amanda, it's generally not a good idea to have more than one gourami per tank. they're usually okay with other species (depending on the specific type of gourami), but it's not good to mix them with other gouramis, especially other males

You could try returning them to where you bought them from.
Kissers can reach 12 in., so that's also something to keep in mind.

I have got 2 dwarf gouramis, 2 three spot gouramis, 1 kissing gourami and 2 pearl gouramis and they are all living together fine. Maybe Im just lucky!!

You are lucky, but I wouldn't really count on it lasting.
In regards to the originaly question- I would definetly return the majority of the gourmais to the store, see if they will give you some store credit in return. If not, try freecycle or craigslist. Best to do this early before any one gets hurt. Good luck!

i got 2 kissing gouramis, 1 blue dwarf gourami, and 1 red gourami in a 36 gal tank, all are about the same size and they do fine together

I have a 46 gallon with 2 kissing gouramis and a gold gouramis,
I also have a 29 gallon with 2 honey gouramis, 1 blue gouramis and 1 kissing gouramis and all are doing well
the only problem i ever had was that i originally had the blue in the 46 gallon and the gold bullied it, so moved blue to 29 and no problems
my 2 kissers must be males as i have read it is rare for them to actually kiss lip to lip and mine have done this on several occasions, but nothing aggressive beyond that
