Torn Feeler?

I have two honey gouramis in a 20 gallon, totally cycled tank. The only tankmates are 5 brochis splendens (which are just like cories). But just now I noticed that one of my gouramis, Madeline, has about half one of her little feeler things torn off. She's acting totally fine. I cant figure out how it happened. I can't imagine one of the cories is responsible, and I have never seen even the slightest hint of aggression between the gouramis. Besides, I thought honeys are supposed to be totally peaceful... I don't have anything sharp in my tank. I'm not as worried about how it happened, really, I just want to know if this will hurt her, or if it will grow back. Is there something that I need to treat her with? I hope not, because I just took down my QT tank after treating a cory. Any ideas?

one of my friends has a betta with a shorter pectoral fin like that. but if its torn, id just keep an eye on it incase infection sets in, but most likely it'll just heal or maybe regrow slightly.

I could only imagine the male would maybe give her an occasional nip, unless you're sure and your catfish have shown aggression before.

Well actually I think that they're both males, I just gave them both female names, so I would think that they would be about even strength wise. I'll put in a little stress coat with my water change, then, like you said, just watch her. I get extra media in my filter just in case.

That's actually very common in gouramis. As long as there's no infection, a little stress coat will take care of it and it should grow back, but it takes a little more time than something like a torn tail fin.

Oh, okay, thanks. How can I tell exactly if its infected?

I'll leave that to someone more experienced...I've actually never seen an infected feeler in person, but I know other members have, so I'm sure they would do a much better job describing it. If it looks like a 'clean cut' though, you should be alright.

Oh, okay. It looks pretty clean to me.
