Will my honey gourami eat Amano shrimp?

Hi. Will my honey gourami eat shrimp if I buy them for my tank? My loaches are supposed to be my cleanup crew but they are not doing a good enough job. Leftover food all over the place. Thanks.

When the shrimp are molting, the gourami will likely see them as supper. If they have plenty of hiding places (particularly frilly plants like Java moss,) they should be okay.

Also, if you can see food on the bottom, you can easily lighten up on feedings. You only need to feed enough that the fish will completely eat in 10-20 seconds.

Maybe my loaches are still too new to want to eat when I put the food in. They are very shy. Thats why there is food left over. But I only bought them a week ago or so.

That could be. I have three kuhli loaches, and I feed them one shrimp pellet after lights out. It's always gone in the morning.

I have 5 gouramis and they'll eat frozen blood worms, shrimp, flake and veggie algea wefers oh or shrimp pellets too. I fees with a cone and shake some out for the tetras and this way i get to see them all .They are all polite at the cone and will eat any thing out of a cone even the wafers.

I don't believe honey gourami will, the shrimp are too big for them to eat.

No they aren't. Bettas will eat full-grown Amano shrimp when the shrimp are molting. Gourami are bigger than bettas and have similar appetites.
