Paradise fish conflicting info

I've been reading around and Ive found a few sites where they say that paradise fish do fine in outside cold water ponds provided the temp is in the 60's... So I could have one in an unheated tank? Is this accurate?

Technically yes you could have it in an unheated tank. But like other fish if the temperature fluctuates it can make them sick.

As long as the temp doesn't drop below 60, that should be okay.

Paradise fish do need big tanks, and in an unheated tank the larger the better since that helps maintain a steady temp.

I was curious, I'm a fan of these guys but for some reason I'd thought that they were more tropical like betta's.

i had paradise fish in a tropical even tho they was bought as cold water fish, if you plan on getting any be careful as they are quite aggressive fish. the one i have left is in his own tank now because he picked on and chased any other fish that moved

I like the fish that don't play well with others
I think that the tank santa brings be for christmas should hold my RTS and a paradise fish relativly comfortably. They're both mean yet they should be ok, the shark gets the bottom of the tank and the paradise gets the top. The paradise fish is meaner but the sharks faster. Lots of caves and hiding places, I think it should be a stable tank.
