As I was testing my water today, my powder blue dwarf was swimming around at the top of the tank as usual, looking for food I'm sure. I was really surprised when he came up and nibbled on my finger though! I guess he was telling me he was tired of waiting, but I had no idea fish would get that trusting. Any similar experiences?

oh yeah i had a gourami that would take the food from my hand and another one that would spit water at the food in my hand which was so cool r.i.p my lil tweety

Many fish can become tame and trusting to the point that you can gently touch them. I mostly found this to be true with my bettas, some cichlids and Gold barbs.

My gourami is quite trusting, but still skittish. He comes racing over when I open the tank lid, sticks his little mouth out of the water and waits for me to drop food in it. So cute.

He does get very frightened though when I do water changes.

Haha, my betta Donovan bites my finger everytime I stick it in the water. He's a feisty little boy

i have 3 gouramis in my tank all get very scared when im doing water changes or when i accendently drop the piece that opens on the hood to feed them, but they come right up to eat as soon as the light goes on in the morning and right when i get home in the evening

I used to have Gouramis that were very similar to this. Catching other fish was nearly impossible because the gouramis were so willing to swim into the net.
