Hi, I know that there are alot of threads about this but, i just wanna be sure. I got a dwarf gourami just recently as some of you know, and he was fine for about a day or two, then he just started laying around, doing nothing. He dosent even eat anymore, i even bought freezed blood worms today, and he isnt eating, he just sits at the bottom. sometimes i see him at the top just looking at the food and going right back down. I really dont want him to die, but from researching this, it seems almost inevitable. now, if he does die, would I have to clean the entire tank to get rid of the disease? also, would my ghost shrimp be affected by this at all? thanks for all your help, i know im asking alot of questins, but i want to learn!

i think this is a disease exclusively in gouramis. i've heard of it before, but I'm not sure of the cure. Does he show any differences in appearance (eg: color loss, torn fins, etc?)

well, hes lying on his side barley breathing if thats any help... im pretty sure de's gunna be dead by tonight

i wouldn't hold much hope for the little guy. you could try adding vitamins to the water if you haven't already.

I also had two Dwarf Gouramis...notice I said Had ! Mine died the same way...an indovirus, I believe. I had no problems with the other fish, so I don't think it's contagious.
