My Dwarf Gouramis are spawning she nips his fins then they embrace he rolls her over and she release her eggs then he eats them!!! (great bloke) why do you think he hasn,t built a nest. He looks like he wants to, hanging around some floating plant and nosing around in it but why no bubble nest?

Are you sure its a male.I have seen two females embrace?.I put the male in the breeding tank first for a few days,and feed him up on live food.When he starts building the nest then i add her.Some fish do eat the eggs the first few times.If he keeps eating them get a newmale.Good luck mumzy50

no definatly a male there were some eggs floating amongst the plants and i witnessed the spawning it went on for a few hours.

Hi again.Try what i said,put him in first,leave him for a few days to see if he starts blowing.While hes in there feed him up on live food.Might be better to leave him a week,a few days dont really give him anoth time to get use to his tank.I was just thinking are you sure hes old anoth for breeding.I have a male who only spits and that it,but a great dad.Then my colbolt blue male blows all over tank.If that dont work,see if you can swap him for another male.mumzy50
