Dwarf Blue Gourami Kills Neon Tetra?

Hi i was wondering i recently purchased 2 powder blue Gourami's (male and female pair) for my 29 gal comunity tank, becuse i read there discription as follows.

Temperament / Behavior : Mostly peaceful and hardy, they are good fish for beginners.

Compatible Tank Mates : Many, given their usually peaceful nature. They may become slightly territorial if placed in a smaller tank with other Dwarfs.

I thought about it for a while and read that people do keep them with neons and that they are a nice fish. So i come home from work tonight and i see one of my neons dead floating at the surface with her tail all chewed. i had a school of 10 in the tank now i have 9. I also have some Ghost shrimp and the tank has 5 live plants and some nice hiding spots. I doubt that the ghost shrimp killed the tetra, could this be a fluke the tetra died and they were eating it, or is it a territorial mating thing with the male or is he just a mean one.

If anyone has kept tetra and gourami's together let me know what you think i have a 10 gal that i am changing to sand that i could put them in, but its not ready and there will be a mini nitrogen cycle when i do that. I don't want to stress the gourami's but i don't want to lose any tetras.

Thanks

Ive kept them both and never had an issue with them eating them..they will chase them off and be territorial...but never eating...if one had died, the shrimp may have nibbled a bit...im not sure about that tho...I do know gourami's arent strong enough to handle a mini cycle...mine were always sensitive to water conditions..goodluck!
