Re: Dwarf gourami...???
Yeah, the long pelvic-fin "feelers" are perfect targets for any nippy fish.
I've had good luck with platys with my gold gourami who is about three inches long. They don't seem to bother eachother at all. Maybe it's because the platys do not feel threatened by the pretty small gourami, who isn't much bigger than they. Other livebearers (mollies, guppies, swordtails, variatus) might behave similarly.
I have another tank with a gourami and cories and otos, and they get along famously - the otos aren't even fazed with the gourami feeling them up with his antennae.
I am really partial to cories, myself. Get three of them, and their personalities will really come out. They're more like puppies than fish, and you can watch them graze all day, burrowing into the gravel and wiggling their cute little barbels.
