Goldfish feeding dish

I read on another forum about using a feeding dish, and I thought I might share it here because I thought it was such a great idea.

I know a lot of goldfish, especially fancies, are prone to swim bladder problems, and that feeding floating pellets is not ideal because they could swallow air with the pellet. But floating pellets are easier because then it is easier to clean up after.

So the idea behind this feeding dish is that you find a flower pot base (the type that you use to collect water under a pot) of a safe material with decently high sides. You can put a small amount of gravel on it to keep it in place if it floats or moves around. Then use some sort of tubing, or undergravel filter tube.
Then you can put the sinking pellets in the tube and put the tube over the 'plate' and it puts the pellets directly on the plate.

This way you can see how many pellets are left, and just do a quick suction to get them out! Keeps it from getting all caught up in the gravel.
You can even have 2 if you have a sight challenged fish, like separate food dishes!

Here is the link to the original idea: http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzon...-feeding-dish/

Cool tip! I'm sure this is useful for all sorts of fishies and for keeping food mess out of smaller tanks. Thanks.

Edit: Also, I just realized your name is "elvish swimmer"; I kept reading it as "elvis swimmer" and wondering if Elvis used to be big swimmer. I think I need my eyes checked.

That's a great idea. I use a little dish for my ADF's. It also lets you know how much they're eating and makes for easy clean up.
