Uh ...I hope I don't come off as sounding like the town's doom crier. But don't you need to have a HUGE tank to have more then one goldie? I only ask because I have a 15 gallon fish tank recently learned that this would be too small for my one goldfish. All my dreams of having a goldfish tank were smashed right there.

Lovely pics of your goldfish, by the way.

Welcome home Shellbell! Glad you and yours are all safe. The new Goldies are beautiful and what a nice gesture on your house sitters part. I'm sure you'll do whatever is necessary to keep them happy and healthy. Keep and eye on your water chemistry and keep up with your water changes and I think they'll be fine for sometime in your 30g.

I have a feeling the new additions may be putting you in a sticky situation as far as stocking, tank space and quarantine. Obviously you're going to keep them (I would too) or you wouldn't have named them lol. This could be a good time to increase your MTS!

Glad to hear the Betta handled the trip well also.
Keep us posted.
Ken

PS Jackie...just keep up with your water changes and cycle readings and I think your Goldies will be fine for somtime. Maybe you can find them a larger home down the road.

I'm already 4 tanks past what I promised my hubby I would have till we get a bigger, better place this spring/summer (LOL)Currently my GF are all under 2inch's and Fancys not commons so I think with frequent w/c's and careful monitoring I'll be ok till I get my 55ga which the 30 gallon fish will go into then the fish in the 20 can go in the 30 and so on

30 ga 4 goldfish
20 go 2 goldfish
10 ga 4 anoles
6.6 ga currently empty after being resealed
3 ga 1 Betta Boy

Congrats on your new goldies They are adorable. That was such a sweet thing for your house sitter to do. Good thing the fish that she chose were compatible with what you have. Could you imagine if she had gone to the pet store and just picked out a "cute little oscar" for your tank? Lol, that would have been a heck of a surprise Anyways, enjoy your new fishies! They are darling

Two fancies are fine in a 30 gallon as long as she keeps up the water changes and monitors it carefully (which I'm sure she does!). The fancies do not need as much swimming room as the commons and comets do since they are much slower swimmers.
