After much research and having problems with vacuuming my rocks I have decided to try the bare bottom look in my 30 gallon long goldfish tank,so far I like it what do you think

I like the way you did the plants and rocks in the containers. That looks pretty good and the goldies won't be able to uproot the plants. It will definitely make it easier to vacuum up their poops...

That would be cool - a little plastic christmas tree in december, maybe a haunted house with a fake tree that is only the branches for halloween. You could probably find some cool themed decorations at a cake decorating store. They would be food grade plastic which would probably be okay for the tank.

Tight budget? I think it looks like a million bucks! Really - That is a beautiful tank. I love the simple elegance of it all. Ummm, I may actually need to borrow your design for my 5g. *Well done*

Great way to go! I lifted up a decoration out of the gravel to scrub the algae off in my Grandfather's tank and there was just this absolute explosian of trapped waste. Bare-bottomed is best. =D

Your grandson's fish are beautiful, btw. =o Almost makes me wish I had something different from my gorgeous comet... Almost. =P

Bare bottom is ideal for the fancy goldfish with the pop eyes/bubble eyes because then there is less risk of them damaging the eye sacs on the gravel. My pond is bare bottom and I love it. When I bring my cleaning crew in for the winter, I keep my tank bare bottom.

I agree, It looks great!!!!. I love bare bottoms as well. My 20 gallon (bare bottom) is by far the easiest to clean.
