I have no experience with goldfish whatsoever, but I LOVE your tank! Whatever you do decide on will really enjoy their new home.

shell that tank looks awesome!!!!!!!!! ever seen lionhead goldies? (my ultimate fave) google some they are a hoot with tons of personality....I would get 2 for that tank and if you keep up on water parimeters and such, 3 would work goodluck !

You're tank looks great.
For stocking the rule is this. 20 gals for 1st fish and 10 for each addtional fish.
When it comes to the fancy body goldies you can (if diligent about water quality) fudge that to be 10 gals/fish.

Good luck and can't wait to meet them.

In your 30 gallon, I would stay with the fancy goldfish (egg shaped bodies) rather than the common, comet, or shubunkin varieties. The fancies don't swim quite as fast and can get by with a bit less room. I would not go more than 3 though. If possible, add them one at a time so you don't crash your cycle. There are a lot of different fancies to choose from. If you get any that have protruding eyes, then do not mix them with ones that do not have protruding eyes. It would be best to pick one kind and get two or three of that kind. Here are a couple of websites that will show you the different types of goldfish.

They're adorable!!!
I'd got with one more Goldi. Dojo's can get rather large and like groups of 3 or more.
Good Luck!
