Bring a goldfish on a long train journey?

Hi all~ I want to bring a goldfish with me on a long train journey that will take over 10 hours (from Tucson to Los Angeles). It's my girlfriend's goldfish and I need to keep it in good shape when I reach her in LA... Is there any way that I can successfully do this? I've called Petsmart and they don't have products for this particular purpose... I really need help! Thanks!

You can pack the fish in an insulated styrofoam cooler. Just make sure that you dechlorinate the water with Prime to make sure that it will neutralize any ammonia from fish waste. Good luck with your trip!

If you can take the fish to a LFS that uses pure O2 in the bags and have your fish bagged there, I think you'd have a better chance. I agree that you should put the fish in a styro cooler. A friend of mine owns a LFS and allowed me to come in and bag my fish with O2 on the morning of my move. I moved my fish 440 miles and they were bagged for over 14 hours, yet it was a really successful move.
