I'm trying to feed my goldfish peas.
I've just tried

1st time 1 full pea: sank to ground.
2nd time 1 pea skin: 1 goldfish ate then spat it right out.
3rd time fish food mixed with peas: not yet started.

Ive soaked the peas in water with fish food slowing dissolving.
Do I need to do something different or keep going.

Hurry before my Dad rubs it in my face!!!

my platys like frozen defrosted peas, without the skin. I kind of smear it up in my fingers to break it up a bit and they love it-- it kind of looks like pea paste when i'm done smooshing it and it breaks up rather easy. better luck next time!! i'm not quite sure though if maybe goldfish may just not like peas-- maybe someone else know better-- LILA

Goldfish love everything! They eat peas, lettuce, spinach, etc.

They eat frozen peas, cauliflower, broccili, carrots, spinach, and lettuce. I also heard that they can eat oranges and potatoes, but I doubt that.

My Mom thinks they leave the carrots alone.

My bettas eat peas that are frozen peas that are prepared by:

Take 1 pea and put on saucer .... no water.... microwave on high for 30 seconds just to defrost not to get hot
SKIN the pea and throw the skin away
Take half the pea and cut a piece half the size of the fish's eye (the size of their stomach is the size of their eye) and cut it into 2
or 3 chunks and feed the chunks to them on the tip of a finger or a plastic spoon.
Be sure to wash finger between fish or use different spoon.

No, I didn't boil the carrots.
That's why my Mom thought that.

Now my mom just cuts/pounds(I don't know which)the peas into paste.

Goldfish came from China (IS EVERYTHING IS MADE IN CHINA NOW!?!?!?)
Betta came from Africa (I think)
Platties came from...(I have no idea. )

They have many differences.

Like some people hate to eat snails and some people love to eat snails.
So some fish like their peas differently.

Oh, Bettas come from Thailend.(Where's Thailend? I'm not good with maps.)

The day the fish ate the peas I gloated.
I wonder what my grandparents will think when I tell them I feed Goldfish peas.

Boiled carrots...my mom put them in the refridgeorator to cool down Goldfish did not eat the carrots(again!)

peas: good; cauliflower,broccoli,spinach, and lettuce: seldom in my house; carrots: unsuccessful ;oranges and potatoes: not yet tried.

The snail comment I said earlier, does anyone know someone who likes to eat snails?(curious)

I should give up trying carrots they can't be saved for later with fish.

Thailand is in Asia. Do you feed them anything else besides peas?

Of Course I Feed More Than Peas!!!
NO fish survives on just peas.(I think)
I feed them 2 types of Goldfish flakes (3 times daily) and peas (weekly).
Besides normally in the wild, fish don't depend on one land plant.

I always take the skin off the peas for mine and I make sure they have been cooked.

Both of my goldfish LOVE peas. Dahmer (the smart one) will catch them mid-float down the tank while the other fish (the dumb one... Chubs) has to find them on the gravel. So I have to distract Dahmer with one pea on one side of the tank and quickly drop in another pea for Chubs to find later.

This works about half the time... the other half Dahmer will find the 2nd pea. It's amazing how fast Dahmer can swim when he/she recognizes the smooshed pea slowly drifting down through the water.

Well guys, here is one to blow your minds - mine eat pasta! Yes partially boiled pasta! They love macroni type as it can fall and is still easy for them to pick up. No I don't do it every day, I cycle through the vegetables and flood flakes. They wouldn't get pasta any more than once a month max. Pigsy, Two and Runt just go wild for it - yep that's their names.
