ok what you will see here is eggs, a group of koi just finished doing some fish love, and my poor tore up pond. The fantail goldfish also spawned this morning,,,so all is done except 2 more female koin and thousands of eggs

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Hope we get to see pics of fry if it's possible later on. Keep us posted! I've read an article that suggested putting a cotton mop head in the pond for fish to lay their eggs on. (just a thought) Once the eggs are laid you can move the mop head to something else (aquarium, another pond or huge bucket w/filtration) until they reach a good size to go back into the pond. It's my understanding that the adults will eat the fry. What has been your experience with the eggs?

Yes the mop head works great....anything for the eggs to stick to. I'm not doing anything special to hatch them....still end up with at a dozen or so. Most get eaten as eggs, or go into the filter.

Here are a coulpe more spawnning pic...the males pushing the female and the spashy part is the actual spawning....very fast hundreds of eggs and been going on now for 6 hours,

They are 7 years old and I only keep 9 in the pond of about 2,300 gallons. Must change some water once a month to keep them growing....just like an aquarium on a grand scale.

Feed them everything with protein...crab stuff after we eat the good parts, chopped frozen bait fish, koi pellets, for dessert cheerios...mutligrain!!! They are now bigger than my neighbors dachhounds...you know weenie dogs.
