Hi jana..I moved your post so the other thread doesnt get hijacked and goldfish questions dont belong in the saltwater section

if you can let us know what size tank and what other fish you have in that tank , it will help us give you some advice on stocking

I would suggest keeping gold fish with gold fish. Nothing tropical for certain.

Depending on the size of your tank, other coldwater fish such as dojo loaches, paradise fish, and white cloud minnows can be kept with goldfish

I hope your tank is big enough for dojo loaches!!! I can't tell you how fun those water puppies are

dont be sorry I just wanted to make sure your question got the help it needed

with the black moor and the goldie in the 20 gal, you will need some good filtration and maybe some extra water changes....one goldie in a 20 gal gives it a ton of poo...2 will do it even more...but doable if you are on top of water changes...goodluck!

is it heated? what's the temp. and was it 20g, right? danios are great for cold water tanks they are great, i love 'em, if it's heated you can have pretty much anything. when they are lager, as in 12 inches larger, they can live with African & American Cichlids, including oscars, that's if the tank is big enough.

Goldies really shouldn't be kept in heated tanks. And I would not consider putting them with any type of cichlid, especially Africans. They are much too aggressive.

Goldfish shouldn't be kept in heated tanks, as they are Coldwater fish. And they certainly shouldn't be kept with Cichlids. An Oscar would slaughter a Goldfish.

I'm not saying they should be with cichlids and i'm not saying the must have a heater, i'm just saying i've seen it.

Generally Goldfish should be kept with Goldfish. Shibunkins and Fantails don't mix due to fin nipping (This goes for Black Moores also) Also, normal Goldies need a long tank, and Fantails do better with a tall.

Small minnows could do well, but Goldies are poo machines, therefore you'd need a nice big tank to keep a shoal and a Goldfish.

I think in a 20g tank, 2 goldfish is enough
