Fancy Goldies and weather loaches

I'm picking up a 66 Gal tank this week that will become home to 3 fairly large fancy gold fish. However since the tank will be pretty roomie for the three of them I was wondering if a pair of weather loaches could be added as well?
What do you guys think?

Sounds good to me! I had a weather loach years ago and loved him. He would follow my finger along the glass. I havent seen any locally in a long time but it's just as well, as now I know they need cooler water and I dont have a tank set up for that!

That was my issue but since I've got extra room in this new tank I was thinking that I might finally have a chance...

I just read another post that said goldies will eat small live fish on occasion so be sure they're not too small. Goldies dig up the sub so if the loaches bury themselves that could be bad?Plecos go with goldies and thats all i got.

I have two sail fin plecos and 3 chinese algae eaters that are in my pond with my comet/common goldfish. I had to bring them in for the winter since my pond is not heated, but they do a real good job at keeping the algae cleaned up in my pond. Some people have issues with CAE's being aggressive towards the other fish in the tank, but I have not had any problems with mine. Since you have a smaller tank than my pond, you may want to consider one of the smaller plecos that can handle cooler water temps. The main issue is going to be water temps since goldies need cooler water temps. A weather loach may be ideal since they can take the cooler water. I haven't seen any around here, so I don't really know that much about them.

Get at least three of the loaches, they like to be in schools. And I would say no to plecos, they need warmer water than the goldies.

Since the weather loaches get 10" long would 3 of them over stock the tank? Or since they're more eel like (like kulii's) they're an exception to the 1"/Gal rule?
