* * * * * * * *i have a 4ft tank with two filters going at the same time creating a cicular current with lots of surface turbulence, its an established tank, water parameters good, the gas exchanges are/must be good as it has quite a current in the tank, but i have goldfish at the surface that appear to be taking in extra air, is this normal for goldfish as i have looked up all possible causes ,i.e ammonia,airation, etc the tank has none of the symptoms with fish gasping ,, what else could it be or is it just a goldfish thing

i have the same problem i thought maybe my goldfish thought some of the bubbles was food she is at the top a lot

Describe the fecal mater of the fish.
This could be caused by intestional pressure.

I'm not an expert but the black moor I have is at the top of my tank quite often. I don't think it is a gasping problem, but rather he is always looking for food. Because the other goldfish (calico fantail) I have is only at the top to feed.
