I am a little concerned that you have cool water fish (goldfish) and tropical fish (Otos) in the same tank though. They do have different needs.

i'm assuming you're replying to somebody else, as i ONLY have Goldfish in my Goldie tank

I don't think Ottos who like softer water would really be suited to the pH the goldfish need. Also the same with the temp. Goldfish like it cooler (I have a koi and goldfish pond). And Ottos like it warmer and are very fussy about clean water. (a good mate for Discus).
Back to your situation. We have a similar one. My mom keeps her 2 goldies in a 30 gal tank with weekly water changes and everyone is super happy. Also she keeps it very cool. Lights out during the day and they come alive when the lights are on and its feeding time. (think they sleep more than we think) I think its normal for them to hang out and be relaxed. If they didn't wake up and act happy about dinner time. Then I would be worried. Cause they love, love, love to eat.

Oh, they're happy little buggers! I think maybe just the hot weather has them more mellow in the corner during the day.

Once its evening and the lights are on and dinner is served everyone is wiggling like crazy and seems good.

thanks for asking

I havn't had goldies for about 10 or 12 years now...when I did have them I only had the normal ones. ( Comets I think they are) some regular finned and some long finned. I had about 6 in a 20 gallon. ( I didn't know ...I DIDN'T KNOWWWW) I got most of them as tiny fry out of a pond my M/I/L had..they were less than an inch long....lol. They never were still they always were swimming around and active and they lasted 10 to 15 years and then I gave away the last few as I wanted to go tropical.....I was overfiltered and I did do regular water changes. I guess I was wondering if yours are the fantails and such or just regular goldies. Fantails and fancies seem to be more quiet and slow that the regulars...hope all works out for you and they stay healthy and happy...good luck.
