Mating?

OK, maybe I have too much time on my hands...Do Goldfish mate with only their kind? Moors, Orandas, Fantails, etc. Or since they're all Goldfish, do they all mate?

i think different species mate with each other, but it is really difficult to breed them in home aquariums.

I was just wondering. My Oranda really likes the Black Moor. LOL. They play follow the leader, or so I think.

I had a small (less than a year old) Ryukin, and he kept constantly chasing my female black and gold Oranda. I saw the white spots on his gills and it seems she dont like him, so I decided to exchanged the Ryukin. Now, after learning its very hard to make them mate, I regret my decision....

Goldfish are all the same species.

Generally, goldfish mate when the water temperature raises from below 60F to above 60F.

Indeed, it is not common for giolsfish to breed in the home aqauria.
the ones here in the pond bred every spring.

Right now my tank is 21 (70*F) degrees C. I suppose I should get it a little cooler.
