hello i was thinking about going out n buying a goldfish for those normal size tanks maybe a gallon or something. wanted to put it in my room, but i was thinking maybe i can be able to put it in with my other fish or just leave it in its own tank. i no he can get stressed out from moving n all just curoious. something like going to ur cousins house or something. would this be unhealthy n dangorous or healthy cause then he can make friends

Goldfish require at least 5 gallons per goldfish because they give off such a big bioload.

What type of goldfish are you thinking of buying? You'll want to check the adult size. A lot of them get to 12" and need a 20g tank. A pearl scale goldfish would be cool to have.

i got no idea like the simplest goldfish ever lol. i just want it for a bit in that lil jar thing i got for the goldfish n then when i get my new tank ima give my 10 G to him

In my opinion, you should wait to get your goldfish until you have a tank big enough for him. Goldfish just can't thrive in small tanks because they produce too much waste. A one gallon tank would be way way way too small for a goldfish!

As for keeping him with other fish, goldfish do best with other goldfish because they like colder waters than tropical fish.

If you want to keep fish in a smaller tank, goldfish are totally not the fish to pick. They need lots and lots of space ... more than many species of fish! Bettas are much better fish to keep in smaller tanks because they only need 2-5 gallons per fish (though they love more!) and you'd only be keeping one anyway, so you wouldn't need to worry about trying to fit a school into a little tank. You could also get an aquatic frog like an african dwarf frog instead.
