Colour loss! Help!

Hey everyone, my glowlight tetra is loosing it's colour. I feed them flakes and nothing else. I had this fish long before I found this site so I didn't know about vairing the diet. Could this colour loss be from just eating flakes?
Thanks,
Joe

yes it could ...all fish need a variety of foods.....id give him some frozen bloodworms, and some frozen brine shrimp with some fresh garlic juice.(2 drops or so 2 times a week) as well as their flakes....what else is in the tank? whats the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrate readings?

I have one other glowlight and two black neons. I don't think it's the water chemestry because my otherone is fine. I'll get some bloodworms over the weekend.

id never assume because others are ok that the water is ok..some fish dont tolerate things that others do ...but im just suggesting not accusing whenever something goes wrong, the first thing i do is test the water......a mini cycle can sneak up on us all when we lease expect it..do you know the water readings?

He will go crazy over those frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp, lol!!! I have Black Neon Tetras that are fed veggie flakes, frozen bloodworms and brine shrmp and they have some awesome colors, neon blue on all fins and tail and yellowish belly showing when they are in the light!! Really cool looking. They didn't look like that when I first got them.

A bad diet shows and a good diet makes them glo

buy the frozen cubes...athough more money, much easier to feed portions and cheaper for the amount you get compared to the flat frozen packs ....they stay right in the freezer until feeding time..then take some tank water in a cup with a cube , let it thaw for 15 mins or so, then spoon them out to the fishies
