Glolights spawning

I saw my glolights doing the deed, but am not sure exactly how to best make things more comfy for them. I believe they lay eggs but don't know if he sprays his goods over them at birth or if he plants the seeds and then she pops? Will he defend his loot as I have all in all around 30 fish in this tank ?

.I don't think they actually do the "deed"...not sure if that's what your meaning or not...but she will lay the eggs and he will follow behind and fertilize them...There is no "sex", just egg laying.

if you want to make them more comfortable some Marvin Gaye, low lighting no seriously just make sure water parameters are in check.

I think the eggs would get eaten you might have to separate them some how or just let nature take its course.

Ah come on guys, you know wot I meant. Glad to see I could give some of you a laugh though.

They actually kinda twisted their bodies together for a half a second but, I knew wot they were doing! Does this mean he sprayed her eggs as it left her body, which was about 3 inches from the bottom? That would mean she "scattered" her eggs? I couldn't see anything though. Anyone know how long this hatching would take?

Hi Imatthews
They will hatch quite quickly , within a few days ( use a torch to try and spot them stuck to the glass , gravel etc ). A few days later they will start swimming . Just about everything will eat them so dont be surprised if they all go .
At least you know your fish are happy .
