I've read that if fish are about the same size and shape they'll school together.

for tetras, you can follow the one inch per gallon rule

I'm not sure if they will school, i know they're compatible but i doubt they'll form a shoal all the time. If you go all tetras you can have a lot of them and it will make a stunning display

you'l have to rule out one of the tetra species as the tank is a little overstocked. You'll have to have good filtration and keep up with the water changes

As long as they're small tetra's (neon's, glowlights,etc), you could easily keep 20-25 in a 20gal.

Sorry, didn't realise you had Corys too. 6 Corys and 15 tetra's would be fine with regular maintence.

That'll be fine. Tetra's have very small bio-loads,and Corys are basically vacumn cleaners! With regular water changes 6 of each will be fine in a 20gal

| My neon tetras are very small and my glowlight's are bigger than they are.
The glowlights will school with the neons often, but will also just school together at times.
It may be on & off because of the size, but even with the size difference they do school together often.
Just letting you know. |

That sounds like my glowlights and my black neons. They school together but not all the time. As long as they don't start fighting (which they probably won't) then they should be fine. And your 20 gallon should be fine with that amount of fish as long as you stay ontop of water changes.

I've got four Neons and four Glowlights, they do hang around together, but they don't school as such, just generally in the same area.
