Little Fella is gone... But where?

I have a 10g tank with 6 cardinals and 1 snail. I decided to add a ghost shrimp just for grins and to see what happens. So two days ago I added him. Apparently they like to hide because I found him hiding in some decor... So today I look for him and he is nowhere to be found... Filter is spotlessly clean the plants are clean and I picked up and inspected the decor its clean... I also checked all over the gravel on the bottom It seems clear too... Oh and the cardinals don't look so guilty either so idk...

Any thoughts?

Ghost shrimp are natural prey to most fish, so there is a chance that your cardinals did pick your shrimp off. But they are very small, so he may still be around.

Hopefully he's hiding. Like Amanda said, they can easily become prey but they can also jump....high.
I once found one splatted on my hood. Poor thing commited shrimpicide.

I thought I'd lost my new cherry shrimp (really small - about a half-inch)...didn't see him for four days after I put him in my 12g. But then all of a sudden I saw him zooming around the tank for the whole day. It was so funny and cute!

Anywho, my point is that he may just be hiding until he feels comfortable. Lots of plants or things to hide in will help. Don't poke around for a few days and he may come zooming out on his own.

Sometimes you can look right at them and not see them.
I hope he turn up soon.

Shrimp can actually hang on to the decor while you're looking at it, and if they're a ghost or Amano (both are clear), you can look right through them, as Lucy said. They survive by hiding, and are very, very good at it. I thought I had lost my two Amano and my cherry shrimp for over a year. Didn't realize they were still alive until I tore the aquarium they were in down.
