I had read somewhere that ghost shrimp babies would not survive unless they were in brackish conditions or some sort of salt supplement was introduced, but lo and behold! Last night I was looking at my new olive nerite snail and I saw this small translucent thing float by the front near the snail. Upon further inspection it was a baby ghost shrimp and it was eating algae off the front of my aquarium. I doubt it will survive long with all the other inhabitants, but at least I know now that they can survive without brackish conditions. Has anybody else had this experience or is it really rare?

It's common they are a fresh water shrimp and there young don't require brackish like amino shrimp. Is the little guy still alive?
