Couple newbie questions I can't seem to find info on:

If I wanted to add some ghost shrimp to my show tank, should I QT them just as though they were fish (as in are they going to bring any nasties into my tank if I don't)?

Are they affected by the same stuff as fishies are, like ICH and such? or do they carry it without being affected themselves?

If I did get some unfortunately that had these awful horsehair worms, would those harm the fish?

Thinking (atm anyway) of 1 male dwarf gourami, eight cherry barbs and maybe some shrimp in my 20g.

I'm pretty sure that yes, you should QT them, I think they can have worms and parasites and stuff, but I'm no expert so someone else should verify that.

Anything has the potential of bringing eggs, bacteria, or viruses into an aquarium. It's always best to quarantine. With shrimp, it's less likely, as their bodies support different parasites than those that would normally affect fish (in general), but it's still possible.
