Shrimp can be sensitive to water quality. What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings?

Ideal water for them is the same as other fish, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 10 or less of Nitrate. Other fish just may be more tolerate of the water conditions. What were your reading last week?

What Choffman says is true. The levels for all aquarium creatures should be 0 ammonia, 0nitrite and low nitrates (5-20).

Ghost shrimp are good pointers that something is wrong in the tank.

If you have no ammonia, nitrates and no nitrites, then your tank is not fully cycled, thats why the shrimp died. And the dead shrimp are not hte biggest of your problems, because you have 2 common plecos in a 20 gallon, thats bad. They will get over 20 inches long each, and are gigantic waste producers. You either need to buy a 150 gallon tank with excellent filtration, or get rid of them ASAP. What kind of glass fish do you have? Because if they are glass catfish, you need to get them a larger school. Heres a link to the catfish: http://www.e-aquarium.com.au/glass_catfish.htm

Maybe your readings are wrong. Do you have a liquid test kit or one of the dip kinds? And maybe the shrimp were sick when you got them.
