My husband went to purchase ghost shrimp and the store had a shrimp they didn't know what was so they could not sell it. It came with the bamboo shrimp when they ordered them. She asked if he wanted it and she gave it to him for free. She did say it wasn't a ghost shrimp. Anyone know what it is?

Looks to me like a Caridina japonica, commonly called the Yamato or Amano Shrimp.

Getting one for free is amazing...they are usually fairly pricey for an invertebrate.

A free Amano shrimp.......NICE.......ignorance from an LFS isn't all that bad,I am surprised they gave it away,admitting their ignorance;instead of trying to sell it to someone,as something else.
