Dead shrimp overnight!

Ok... I went to petsmart () yesterday and got two baby guppies and 4 ghost shrimp, I acclimated them and checked the water parameters to make sure everything would be fine...

this morning I woke up and I noticed that none of the shrimp were within sight, except one which looked white and was lying motionless in the bottom., it had died overnight. I went to get my net and take it out but before I could do something my big mystery snail had almost finished eating it

I dont know where the other shrimp are... I saw only one sitting in one of my fake plants and it seemed fine. I just dont want any more to die... any ideas on what happened? maybe my gourami killed it? (I dont think so since they are so fast and my gourami so slow) am so confused since my water is so perfect:

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 7ppm
ph 7

any ideas on what could have happened?

Sometimes fish (and ghost shrimp) don't handle moving well. It's possible that the shrimp just couldn't handle it!

It's also possible that another fish in your tank could have gotten to it. I'd just keep watching to see if the other shrimp are ok. Sometimes they hide very very well. I have 6 in one of my tanks and almost never see all of them at the same time.

I still cant seem to find the other shrimp so I have no idea if they are dead or alive... is there any way to lure them out?

Algae wafers bring mine out or food in general, they come running down plants and out from under rocks. Its hard to see them when they don't want to be seen, they are see through. I have a 10gal baby tank they are about a month old and almost impossible to see. Also ghost shrimp don't live to long a year or two and the big ones die off from the stress of being moved. If you move you net around the tank carefully and tap the plants you should see them jump back.

Algae wafers work for me, and mine also go crazy for blood worms.

Try that!

They are probably there is just that they are timid for the first while and then they will come out and explore more.

Cheer up....I can almost bet you that wasn't a shrimp you saw eaten! They shed their skin, and it is white. Looks just like a shrimp, but if you notice it doesn't have "meat" inside...a snail would look to eat it, cause it has minerals the snail needs. You most probably still have the same # you bought.

I thought all mine had died as well a while back but moving the giant coleseum for cleaning pushed them out of hiding and I found I still had (and still do have) to very hardy insistant on surviving shrimp. How they got under the coleseum I have no clue try to look under theings if you can they are very sneaky
