What the heck is my Monster Ghost Shrimp doing?

He/she/it keeps arching it's back for a few moments and then straightening back out. Weird. And he is well in his way to Monster Status, almost an inch and a half long, bigger than my Cherry Barbs and most of my Pristellas.

The other pics are of the smaller shrimp preparing to rush out from under their rock for the tasty goodness of uneaten flake food. The little buggers know when the it gets dark and mass at the edge of the rock about ten minutes before "Lights out" each night.

Sounds like it's morning constatutional.

Do you have a Richard Simmons tape going near the shrimp?

Honestly, I have no idea.

Thats what several of the shrimp folks I have posted at have said as well..
Usually, they hide when they do this.
He must feel he has anything to fear.

That was my immediate wonder. Perhaps it's big enough that it doesn't see any of the fish as threats anymore
