Thanks for the compliment. Everyone says he looks just like me, God I hope not! We live in San Antonio and its about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Padre Island. We try to get out there at least once a year. Our other 2 kids love it. We just drive out in the morning, spend the day, have dinner at Water Street and come back home. This was his first trip. The wind kind of bothered him and he slept half the time. As he gets older he enjoy it more.

LOL, are you serious? I don't understand how you can live on an island and never go to the beach! Even those born and raised there? That's impossible! Then what places to they go to if they want to relax, if not the beach? It's an island!

When I was in the Army I was stationed at Ft. Sam for my Medic training. It was great, because unlike basic training, we could go off base at night and on weekends. San Antonio is beautiful. I'd never been to Texas, and after spending a cold winter at Ft. Jackson, spring in San Antonio was amazing! It was really warm, but not too hot yet, and not as desert as I thought it'd be. And OMG I LOVED the riverwalk at night!

Isabella, I'm always as amazed as you are.. the way I see it, many Trinidadians are into a variety of things that exclude beaches.. partying/Carnival..Auto/powerboat racing.. Rock Festivals( Trinidad is probably the only island with a thriving Rock culture in terms of bands and life-styles, everything from Punk to Grunge/Goth/ Heavy-metal and everything inbetween).. they just don't feel a need to learn how to swim or in many cases, even go to the beach.. ah well, to each his own I guess, and besides it's been a long while since Buzz, Aaron and me hit the coast because I just can't seem to find the time to fix the brakes on our old crappy Nissan!..LOL.

It's actually a lot like that down here also. If you go to the beaches, it's about 90% tourist (or snowbird) 10% native floridian. I think after a while you just get used to it. I hate to have to admit this, but I live 2 minutes from the gulf coast, and i haven't been to the beach all year.

Same here, Jim. I live on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay and have not been to the gulf but twice this year. Once to fly my kite, and the second time because my dad got a free weekend in a condo for some work he did for someone.

Other than that, I take my son to Mobile Bay, which is so dirty we don't get in the water, but just play in the sand. Fortunately, we have a pool, so he will know how to swim by next summer, hopefully.

I guess I should post some pictures, maybe I will soon, but then you guys will be like "Mr. Clooney, how do you have so much time to post on forums? Shouldn't you be making movies or doing cologne commercials?!" Ha!
