I currently have a 75 g tank and would like to get another. Originally I was planning on getting another 60+ gallon tank, but I have now decided to stick with something smaller.

Does anyone have experience with the Eclipse Systems by Marineland? Im thinking about the 6 or 12 gallon. What are the benefits of having one those marineland sets compared to a say 10 gallon tank, with hood and attached filter?

I believe the eclipse systems have everything enclosed in the hood. If something goes out there's no way to replace it.

Is this any good: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=3804465 ?? It seems very tall and rather narrow and I don't like the stand cause it can't hid a canister. See here I am not being able to make a decision!! lol

I would stay away from the eclipse.. It'd be handy while everything is working good, But as Carol mention, if something breaks, your buying a whole new hood/everything.. And I don't think they have much for a media compartment..

I have 2 eclipses - a 5 corner and a 5 hex. they are terrific ime. im sure the 12 would be good as well. i share bruisers concern for media space of the eclipse hoods that fit larger tanks, but with smaller tanks, its more than adequate.
