Killer snow storm!

Just wanted to let everyone know on the east coast that my thoughts & prayers are with everyone suring this storm.
I know a lot are without power, which spells disaster for fishkeepers.
I was lucky that I only lost power for 12 hours, I know Shawnie is having a very tough time in NH, so if everyone can also keep her in your thoughts.
So far no casulties for me, although I think I'm going to lose my only male betta tonight, he's 3 yrs. old & not having a heater was just too much for him.
Everyone remember that if you lose power - wrap those tanks ASAP. It could be the only thing that will keep them warm!

This stupid storm hit my area of NY BIG TIME. We have at least 2 feet already, and it hasn't stopped snowing since Thursday morning.
My grandparents roof over their porch is caving in, my boyfriends mustang had a huge tree branch fall on it, wires & trees are down everwhere.
Just be careful everyone!

Oh no! I wondered where she was all day.
I heard about the big storm you're having up there.

Thanks for the reminder about wrapping the tanks and also, if you have them, battery operated air pumps.

Stay safe Amanda, I hope you and all of our FishLore friends and their fin babies pull through. Best wishes for your betta.

I didn't know you all were getting hit up there until I heard from Shawnie regarding her power loss.

Please everyone, stay safe!!! You're in our thoughts and prayers!

BB - did she send you the pic of her boyfriends truck? I think she's getting hit worse than I am.

Hope your little guy pulls through. I got lucky and am only getting the wind from this storm not the snow but still having problems with drifts and power loss in PA.

I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers as well. We are about to get hit with a heavy rainstorm but I doubt we will lose power. Stay safe and prayers for safe and happy fish!

We lost power for 3 or 4 hours here, so it wasn't too bad. If it lasted longer, we would have had to break out the generator. The power just flashed! I hope it doesn't go out again... Hope it comes on soon for all the fishkeepers here in New England who still don't have it.

Not much snow here in worcester but plenty of rain and wind. The power has only flickered a few times and thats about it so far. My folks up in maine on the other hand have no power and havent been able to get down there street since last night due to fallen trees. Good luck everybody out there, stay safe.

Yeah, she did. I was having "side effects" so I didn't realize exactly what it was at first. I'm glad he's okay, though.

Now if she and her family can stay safe and we can figure out how to help her fish, things will be good.

Any idea when this storm will be done up there? Maybe if we can figure out how much time we need to give the fish, we can figure out how to help.

Good luck everyone.
It might be too late for some, but here's a thread with a few good links.
Time to prepare for power outages

We have a severe storm warning until Saturday night.

we got hit hard to here in MD. We got about 3 feet a cople of weeks ago that is still on the ground than about 2 more feet yesterday/today and wind blowing 50mph are making drifts about 20 feet or so high. They have almost every rode shut down because of white outs and snow drifts.. And also a 13 car wreck yesterday on the interstate. IM SOO SICK OF SNOW I CANNOT WAIT TILL IT WARMS UPP . We have not lost power yet and i hope we dont. The wather is saying we are getting more snow wed-day that im not looking fwd to

It's all in where you live. I love winter, and hate summer. Of course, we don't get snow, but some of our storms can be pretty nasty. I would rather deal with our nastiest storm over 112+ degree farenheit temps every day for a month. Of course, both extremes are bad, but still - I like the colder weather.

<HUGS> to everyone dealing with the crappy weather.
Seems like mother nature has gotten her weather maps confused. We've had a pretty benign winter up here it seems this year. The snows been melting almost every day this week...

All of you be safe and take care.
