I have a website that a guy I know helped me make for my xbox clan, he integrated a chatroom application into the site its actually really nice when alot of people are on, If you guys (site admin) are interested I can give him your info. I just notice that there are alot of people on everyday and you communicate in the forums alot, but maybe for small chit chat you could use the chat thing. Just a suggestion.

a chat room has been discussed before but it would be too hard to moderate ....we have members from 10-99 and its not something mike, the owner, was interested in having to have going small chit chat is usually taken to pm once a member has 50 posts

I think a chat would be pretty cool, but I can also understand why they would not want to get involved with it.

My wife was a moderator for a German / American forum, and the chat rooms were quite a pain.

There's always PM's, the General Section, and some people have things like MSN or Yahoo listed as well. It's not quite the same but there are options.

If ypu want to visit with fellow fish people those are ideal.
If you have a problem or a solution to a problem it's more beneficial to our members as a whole for the problem/solutionto be posted on ther site

This is the other main reason we decided against the chat idea. Inevitably, someone is going to try to use the chat room to get quick answers. There's no way these answers can be fact-checked by other members, and a mistake in such places could prove fatal to members' fish.
Questions posted in the main forum can easily be seen by others a day or two later, and if I mistakenly suggested the use of double-strength MelaFix with a betta, others could come in an hour or two later, see what I said, and suggest a complete water change, fresh carbon, etc... to fix the problem.
