my girlfriend got tired of Fish the goldfish getting nipped by her serpae tetras. I told her it wasn't the best combo but she lked how they looked. Well, today she insisted I get them out, so I put them in the tiger barb tank. Those tiger barbs immediately went after the tetras - it was like a gang fight where one side was just destoying the other. The fight lasted about 20 minutes before it just stopped, as if the dominant female just called off the attack. Perhaps that was their tank initiation. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Just another example of the aggressiveness of tiger barbs...

Ah, morning and everyone is accounted for. I think the tiger barbs are confused because the serpaes are nipping each other so much the tigers seem to have lost their drive.

I was a little worried about putting them all in at once, but decided that that was the best way. if i only put in half i think the tigers would have killed them. since they are even in numbers, i think the tetras can better hold their own.

on a side not, all the excitement has kicked lots of sand up and has fouled one of the ac50s.

The Barbs will get bigger than the Serpaes.
My Serpaes are pretty mild tempered but I think they're the exception.
