I had to share this with you all.

Today I got a phone call from the vet's office that treated Ariel before he died. They took $100 off of my bill from Monday night's visit and credited it back to my credit card. They didn't explain why, but I thought it was very nice and it'll be $100 that I don't have to pay.

We don't have Ariel back, but that's $100 that can either be donated if we choose to donate his stuff or $100 that can be spent on spoiling another "piglet" (that's what his vet calls them).

It really made me feel good, so of course I had to share it with my Fishlore friends

Awww BB that's so nice As sad as it is to lose our beloved pets, its so nice when there are people around us who support us and understand. When I lost my cat a couple years back, I got a hand written card signed by everyone in the veterinary office. It touched me so much and really meant a lot. Hopefully you'll be able to use the money to give another animal a wonderful home.

I am so sorry about the loss of your Ariel by the way. I don't think I got to post on your other thread last night because I was swamped with homework, but I did see your sad news and want to send my condolences your way. RIP sweet girl... you'll be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about your baby Ariel. Whether we lose a dog, cat, guinea pig or fish,they are our pets, our love objects and we miss them so much once they are gone. Maybe you can find a guinea pig to rescue and that may bring you peace and comfort. My sincere condolences.

Ken-you'd love him! He spoke to Ariel in the same baby voice I did. I will be keeping him as our "exotic" animal vet.

There's a very good chance we'll be getting another guinea pig. We both miss the snuggling and the cute little piggy sounds in our lives when they're being snuggled with.

Something VERY special came in the mail today from that vet. They made a memorial for Ariel. It's got his paw prints set into a piece of clay with his name across the top. I almost started crying.

This vet will be spaying Goliath in a few months and will be the designated vet for the guinea pigs. He's just absolutely fabulous and they knew how much Ariel meant to us.
