Any Good Fish Stores in St.Louis area?

Hello Everyone
As you can see im from missouri. I have had many issues with petco but i have found one good petsmart in Creswood but i would love to know of some good LFS withing 30-40 miles of Cedar Hill MO or in Jefferson County.
I just want this thread to be about fishstores in St.louis area or anywhere in Missouri. I have also been to a LFS in Pacific,MO and its called PIGS PETS. It was horrible. Every tank had a dead fish and was overrun with alagae it just looked bad. Again post what you have seen or suggest in Missouri
Thank You
Nathan

There are several really top notch LFS in the St. Louis area. I live about 2 hours from there but when in town I always visit a couple. Beldt's is located in Hazelwood, north of the airport. It's worth the drive. www.beldtsaquarium.com
There was another LFS near downtown. I can't remember the name but I remember the store. They had the prettiest altum angelfish in a fully planted tank I have ever seen. The fish were awesome, 12 to 14" tall, gorgeous. Very good selection of fish.
Hope that helps.

There are several worth your time.
  • Beldt's, as ldbrown3138 mentioned, is usually good... if they have enough people working to avoid long waits
  • Malawi Aquatics has a great selection of cichlids, if you overlook the barred-window neighborhood
  • Tropical World Pets and Pet Marketplace are both usually good, and they're only a couple of minutes away from one another.
  • Aqua-World is supposed to be very good, but I haven't been yet
  • St. Louis Marine Solutions is good if you're in the saltwater market and willing to drive a few minutes west to St. Charles county
Either Tropical World, Pet Marketplace, or the Gravois Aqua-World are your best bets if you're coming from JeffCo. I've purchased fish at both Tropical World and Pet Marketplace, and would do so again.

Yup, born and raised here.

And for the record, the "AquaticLife" link should have (and now does) read Aqua-World. Aquatic Life went out of business years ago, I'm not sure where I got that from

There used to be a fish shop in that part of Sunset Hills, but the one I'm thinking of is now a jewelry store, and has been for at least a decade. Tropical World Pets (which I linked to a map of) is maybe 10-15 minutes east on Watson from Lindbergh, if that's what you're thinking of. Pet Marketplace is less than 5 minutes east of Tropical World.

Of course, I haven't spent a lot of time in that area for years, so there could very well be one I don't know about.
