How do I get my fish from Aquabid?

I'm sure some of you might have bought fish from aquabid. I'm confused with this whole transhipper thing. How does it work? any help would be nice.

The seller will package the fish and mail them, fed-ex them, ups them or even take them to the airport and airfreight them to you. Depends upon location, number of boxes, how quick you want the fish and how much you want to spend. If you live in a cold climate make sure you request heat packs for tropical fish.

I think "transhipping" involves the seller shipping the fish to somebody in your country that you are supposed to contact first and set up delivery with, then when that person receives the fish, he/she will ship them to you.

Algae Eater has it correct, at least as I understand the process.

I've never used a transshipper, but the concept was discussed some in this thread: AquaBid

Trans-shippers basically get your fish thru customs legally. There are many import animal/fish laws....the trans-shippers take care of that....then they ship your fish to you.

I've only bought fish on aquabid from within the US...and had no problems.

Sounds like you bought some fish from overseas. Transhippers are the people he or she will ship them to here in the USA. They in turn will rebag them and ship them off to you.

I'm curious, do you pay for shipping from the person here in the states that receives the fish from over seas or do you pay for both shipping fees? I always wondered.

Butterfly - you pay for all the shipping costs. When i bought some bettas from thailand it cost me $5 per betta to ship to USA then an arm and a leg (was winter) to ship from the transhipper to me!
