Completely random and not fish-related

I am in need of a small cone-shaped mold. I make my own incense, and prefer making cones (largely because sticks are really difficult to make). The cones I make look horrible, though, and I'd much prefer that they be uniform in size and shape.

The problem is, I've been having problems finding such a thing. So I'm wondering if anyone here knows of anything of the sort. As I said, I'm looking for cone-shaped, around 1-2". It doesn't have to be a mold, precisely. Anything with the proper shape and size will work. I figure that with hundreds of members here, someone may know of something that might work.

Thanks in advance for the help.

That's a good idea, and I'll have to try it. By all means, though, if someone else has seen anything that they think might work, let me know.

The first thing I thought of was a candle snuffer, something like what's pictured here. They're usually conical or bell-shaped, and in the 1-2" range.

They also come in a variety of materials(brass, aluminum, etc.) if you have a preference for what material you use to mold your ingredients.

I agree - the cake tips would probably work. If you wanted something more like a tray, you could push the cake tips into a block of foam. Or maybe get some of that rubbery stuff that you can use to make a mold. Or plaster of paris, or modeling clay.

Here is a website I found that might be helpful:

As for the cone shape - what about the lid off the aquarium sealant? That would make a longer skinnier cone.

Go to outdoor world they have a molding compound to make your own lures with. You can make fat cone molds tall slender ones etc. They also have molds for lead weights you could get one that is the various size slip sinkers they are cone shaped.

Thanks, guys. I think I know how to do this now. I didn't even think about making my own mold. I can use the pastry tips as a base to make a silicone mold.

Redkahuna, that was an awesome idea. They had a really cool pyramid one, but the pyramids are different sizes, so I'd be paying $30 for a single mold. Still, I hadn't thought of doing pyramid-shaped incense.
