Craigslist Advice?

So, I put an add in my local craigslist in hopes of finding new homes for all of my molly fry. None of my LFS wanted them. I have over 15 fry I'm trying to rehome, for free. I've had about 12 offers! Some are vague and some sound pretty legit. Does anyone have experience in dealing with this sort of thing?

Some of the responses are "I"ll take them all!! Call me now!!!", and then there's what I expected "I have a new tank and want a sturdy fish" or "I have a set up community tank... experienced aquarium keeper."

I'm a stay at home mom and don't exactly want just anyone coming to my house in the middle of the day to check out the fry even if they are an experienced fish person or a mom looking for a fish for her kid's tank.

How do I go about this responsibly and safely? So far I've emailed back the ones that don't creep me out and asked exactly how many they are looking for. What do I do next?

I could use some good advice. I'm a Craigslist virgin!

Bag'em up and meet the guy at the door.

I have a question though. What do you plan to do with the next batch of fry?

I would try and find someone who will use them for feeders, so then you can have the same person coming to your house picking up fish, rather than play craigslist roulette.

Contact your local cichlid club.

Well I love Craigslist really... LoL I have bought my last 2 fish Tanks and 2 cars off of there and even got my last 2 jobs off of there as well. Well If u dont feel safe really, how about you wait till your husband is home or even have a friend over about the time the person is coming over that way u wont be byurself when the person comes over...

You could always bag them and meet the person at a neutral location like a shopping center.

Idk...I think it's the nature of the beast that these people will have to come to your home. With a live animal, things are trickier.

I've done that several times. If I'm alone, I don't like going to a stranger's house. A lot of folks swap frags that way in the reef club too. Some of them even meet up at LFSs so they can shop when they are done with the transaction.

Thank you so much everyone! That is great advice!

I am going to wait until my husband is home, and do plan on bagging them up ahead of time like Jaycee recommended.

I think I will contact the cichlid club about my future batches of fry. That isn't something that I even thought about.

Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas!
