| Going To Have Less Tanks Due to my business partner & I opening a new store next month, I find myself having less & less time to devote to my hobby/obsession. Now that it is two stores, I'm going to have to be a full time manager of one store while my business partner is full time manager of the original store. So much for only having a 30hr week.
I know that this is going to impact severely on the time I can allocate to my aquariums, so I have decided to sell some of them off. I don't want my fish to suffer becasue I don't have the time to do all the maintainance needed. I figure that keeping 10 tanks will allow me to balance my work commitments with my aquarium maintainance as well as still leaving me plenty of free time to spend with my family. The only problem I have is, which 10 tanks to keep? The idea af getting rid of 27 tanks almost breaks my heart. I've got no idea how I'm going to decide which fish & tanks I keep & which ones I'm going to sell. I think making these decisions will finally be enough to make me crack & live up to my nickname. |

| I'm thinking that I might have to sacrifice now so that I can own even more when I eventually retire. Assuming the business keeps expanding anyway. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford my dream tank. That's a room size aquarium smack bang in the middle of my house. |

| I wish I lived closer to you Nutter, after seeing some of your tank photos I would love to take a couple tanks off your hands
Seriously though, sorry you have to make a sacrifice like this, I hope it brings you closer to your dream. We all should have room sized fish tanks

| That's rough.
I'm sorry you have to downsize but it's good news that your business is growing so much that you opened another store! |

Your family and your fish are lucky to have you be willing to do whats best.....good luck to you, your family, your fish, and your new adventures ! |

That's a hard call to make. Breaking a tank down is never fun and having to say good-bye to 27 would be beyond tough. You're doing the right thing and you can always have the fun of getting them all back with interest one day |

| Thanks for the encouragment everybody. I think I have decided which tanks & fish I'm keeping & I've just sold two set ups yesterday. I've decided the easy way to go will be to sell all the tanks that are in the garage except for a couple of the growing on tanks & the 4ft planted community I just set up a couple of months ago. All the tanks inside the house can stay as they all have a substantial amount of time & money invested in them. They have also been set up the longest so there's more attachment to the fish in them. I'm also keeping my missus 6ft geo tank that has the fry in it. That gives me my 10 keepers & the 5 kids tanks that they maintain themselves. Except the youngest, he's got disabilities & can't do the work. He loves the fish though.
Hopefully everything works out so that we can hire other people to run the stores, (6 planned), in a few years & me & my mate can have an early retirement. Then I can spend the rest of my time with my kids, keeping fish, catching fish or day dreaming about fish. |

| Your tanks truly are beautiful, I too wish I was close enough to take one off your hands. I feel for you, it must be tough, but congratulations on the business, and good for you for doing the right thing by family and fish. all the best. |
