thinking about selling endlers, need pointers

ive seen a few posts lately about people wanting to buy endlers. well, i have more than enough endlers and have been thinking about selling some here on the forums, but the problem is i have never shipped fish before. ive never even had fish sent to me, so i know literally nothing about it.

would anybody mind sharing information about the process and what kind of shipping/material costs i could expect?

Shipping materials aren't all that expensive (look up Kens Fish on internet). He has or used to have everything you need to do this.

Shipping can get costly for the buyers. and can easily be more than inexpense fish and plants. But actually, not a whole not more than driving and hour or 2 to get to a good fish store!!!

Give it a try!!! There seems to be plenty of folks that want endlers!!

what are shipping costs that could be expected? seems like most people charge $15 for priority and $30 for express, is that actual shipping costs or is that overcharging?

usually for me, priority is 10-15 and overnight is 36 ....they have certain type of boxes where if your merchandise can fit in it, its a straight fee no matter the weight....and i think overnight (as far as ive dealt with it) is a straight 36...the only issues ive had is that allot of ppl I ship to, they cant garuntee an overnight even if im willing to pay it and that makes it hard on some fish to go 2-3 days

You can count me in for wanting some endlers.
Im sure there is quite some work involved in shipping them, and dont forget you raised them when you think about cost.

My husband has shipped lots of shrimp in Kordon breather bags. Endler's are pretty tough and could probably survive Priority shipping, so you could give your buyers an option of Priority or overnight shipping if you want to. Most of the time, a seller will only guarantee live arrival for overnight shipping so keep that in mind as well. Good luck!

IMO breather bags are more for smaller fish without sharp fins...they do horrible with cichlids and larger fish..they are just too thin IMO and some cichlids have sharper fins which can and will penetrate the breather bags....so i switched to all regular shipping bags...

IMO depending on where you are shipping too and from, fish shouldnt be shipped from nov to march unless you are doing strictly overnight with heat packs...of course going from AZ to CA would be an example of exceptions to that rule...any state that has cold temps in the winter months, isnt worth the fish lives to ship during that time..again IMO

im a huge fan of bag buddies....love them
