Oh No!
My daughter went swimming with hers once. After it dried out, it was fine.

Take the battery out. I heard if you put it in rice, that'll help draw the moisture out.
I've also heard you can put it in a bag with one of those little moisture absorber bags that come in various products.

I just put the battery in a bowl of rice. Thanks for the tip--let you know what happens.
Dont forget the thing went through TWO loads of laundry.

My sister dropped hers in the irrigation twice, and once in her fish pond. She finally decided to get insurance on her phone. I had my first (original) phone for years - until I had to upgrade because my phone was too old.

Phones don't last very long around here.

Along with the one that went into the wine,

our Beagle ( Frosty ) chewed one up.........

Lol Boris, you seem to have less luck with phones than me!

Let us know how it comes out Beth, I'll cross my fingers for you!

I kept the battery and the phone in a bowl of rice over night. Put the battery in and the thing vibrated (I assume a good sign), it's now plugged in and the pwer/charge like is blinking, I'll leave it like that while at work and see how it goes.
its a cheapy phone so the only thing that bothers me is the loss of all the phone numbers.

rofl, my friend dropped hers in the toilet, and the bowl of rice trick worked.
My old, old MP3 player went through a load of laundry and after I dried it out it still worked.

My woman dropped her phone in a 450 degree oven. It would still do calls but nothing else worked. She has also dropped a phone in a glass of water.

When we got new expensive phones, I got her a case which has saved the phone from a burn already. Don't recall what burnt it but the case saved it. Err.

The big thing with cell phones is to open as much of the main compartment as you can and let it dry for days. Water won't damage it if a charge doesn't run across the circuits. I'd take the battery out and let it dry for longer. It may seem to work now, but a small drop of water could shift into a circuit and fry the thing.

Well, too bad I already have it closed and hopefully charging. Will see what it looks like when I get home (in 30 minutes...the longest morning of my life today). If it's no good i'll open it up and let it sit, although it might be too late.

It might be fine. My dad's phone took a day of use to short out after he washed it, and he was carrying it around. If yours is just sitting there, it's less likely that water will move around the circuits.

Best of luck with it working! There aren't many things more annoying than losing everything in your phone!

Oh, no! I hope you can keep the same number, too! That would be such a pain if you couldn't. Keep us posted and hang in there. Things have to get better soon
