Gutted

I was recently told that the SYNODONTIS GRANULOSOS had now been tank bred which in turn had brought the price down considerably. After not much upto date info on the net i rang a few fish shops and my excitement turned to dissmay. I was wrongly informed of the very attractive price of £10-£20(yes mate). Well they have been tank bred here in the UK but they hold an asking price of about £280. Well that can be put on the back burner until i win the lottery. LOL. I wish ppl would give the right information in the first place
oh well i MIGHT start saving.
Nick

Over here zebra plecs (true zebras) are about £200 Thats if you can get them as there is a ban at the moment removing them from the part of river there from. When i first started keeping fish the zebras were £25.

The problem with Zebra pleco's are most you see for sell from other hobbiest , they are selling off extra males. That is when you see them for a good price say between $200-500.

Granulosus have been spawned in captivity, but not yet in large enough numbers to like the eupterus to make them relatively common (and inexpensive.) 280.00 GBP = 464.599 USD. The average price for a W/C is still around $500, so I'd say the price hasn't dropped significantly. Something else to consider is the slooow growth rate, similar to other Tanganykian Synodontis species.
