How much Aquarium salt should I use to help Loach

I'm hesitant to use aquarium salt in my tank because I have tetras and a pleco. Looks like one of my loaches spooked and injured himself. I was thinking about adding a little salt to help him heal, but since these fish don't like it very much I'm concerned about how much to use medicinal.

loaches are less tolerable of salt than yoru plec or your tetras...so id worry more about his reactions...if you have a QT tank, you can do daily partial water changes with some stess coat+ and vita chem....if not, do so in your main tank ....salt is more of an old school way and will stress him more IMO

Thanks, looks like I'll need to order Vita Chem on-line. Can't find a single aquarium shop that carries the product.

VitaChem is a little hard to find but well worth looking for. I second the no salt . Most loaches come from fast moving, freshwater streams.
What size is your tank and what all is in it We like pics also

Depending on how badly he has injured himself, and whether or not it appears infected, MelaFix could be helpful. It contains Tea Tree oil, which seems to help injuries and fight some infections.
