Snail infestation?

What do you all consider a snail infestation?
Thanks

LOL Good morning Beth. I hope you're doing well today. We are starting to get rain now from the storm Ida (I think is the name). So we're having a wet gloomy day here today but that's ok.
Snail infestation: When you see more snails than substrate. (my definition)

I've only had my 4 Mystery Snails for a short while Beth. One batch of eggs hatched and I think were eaten by my gold fish. I have yet to see any little ones around. I'm waiting on the 2nd batch to hatch now. How many do you have?

Right now I have 5 in a 20L with one baby. I always look for the clutches and never see them.

So if one has a snail infestation how big a deal is it to snatch up what you don't want with your hands and do what you will with them?

I can pull out 20 per day (or more) with a net. These are medium sized ones. The babies are to hard to net out but I can usually see 30-50 of them on the glass at any given time. Assassins will be here Thursday!!!

I think an infestation is in the eye of the beholder. lol
My 10g has snails. If I see a couple, I don't worry about it. Sometimes I'll see 10 or so.
IMO, that's an infestation in a 10g.
I pluck them out and throw them in an old scratched up 5g.

I have lots of plants or it would likely affect my cycle. I have never seen a hint of ammonia or nitrite in the tank but I do 2x week water changes to keep the nitrates low. I really do tend to overfeed the fish though ands I am trying hard not to look at their little begging eyes when I go in the room. LOL

I have hundreds on MTS in my 55...and they will be moved into my 150.
I have about 50 snails in my 20, and A LOT in my 10.
I like snails though, I don't mind them being in there at all.

I also love snails, I just wondered what people considered an infestation.
Thanks

I have hundreds of MTS. I regret ever adding those first 4 to my tank not knowing they would absolutely explode like they did.

I also regret ever getting those MTS snails...I just tore down one tank and completely washed it.. I am waiting to make sure I did not kill my cycle in that tank before I tackle the other tank. I washed the whole tank inside and even took out all the gravel and hand picked all the snails out of it. I then soaked the gravel in as hot of water as I could get to come out of my tap. I hope I got all of the real tiny baby ones too. I even checked inside of the filters but I did not want to disturb the filter to much as I had washed all the bacteria away everywhere else in the tank....so far so good no cycle probs.
